A clear tough high gloss two-part polyester-urethane coating specifically used to dramatically reduce flooring cleaning costs.
To provide a hard wearing mar (scratch) – resistant clear glaze coat for any resilient hard floor. Typical areas of use:
CK Glaze™ is particularly suitable where a clear hard wearing decorative finish is required.
CK Glaze™ is a two-pack polyester-urethane clear gloss coating system supplied in pre-weighed packs ready for on-site mixing. The formulation was chosen to provide a high degree of abrasion resistance, mar-resistance and gloss retention.
The cured film forms a hardwearing mar-resistant decorative coating with excellent adhesion to any resilient hard floor. It cures to a high gloss, impervious finish that is easily cleaned.
CK Fine Grit may be added to improve slip resistance.
The durability of CK Glaze™ will vary depending on the conditions of us. Contact our Technical Advisory Service for durability statement requirements.
CK Glaze™ should not be applied:
If the substance onto which CK Glaze™ is applied moves or cracks, reflective cracking may occur.
CK Glaze™ is recommended for use only as described in the Uses section of this data sheet.
The values given below are average figures achieved in laboratory tests at 20°C. Actual values obtained on-site may show minor variations from those quoted.

* Note that after the pot life has expired, the material, although not hardened, increases in viscosity and the characteristics of the product change. Excess material should be discarded after this point.
** These temperatures apply to continuous conditions. Rapid changes in temperature will result in failure, particularly below 5°C.
CK Glaze™ has excellent resistance to alkalis, solvents and a wide range of chemicals. Specific data is available on request from our Technical Advisory Service.
Good housekeeping is essential in areas where chemical spillage is likely to occur. It is especially important that such spillage should not be allowed to dry. Evaporation during drying will result in higher concentrations of the chemicals.
An on-site floor survey is highly recommended to confirm suitability of the product before specification is finalised and application commences.
A damp proof membrane must be installed to prevent delamination where there is a high risk of rising damp.
The durability of CK Glaze™ in trafficked areas is reduced. In areas of very heavy traffic such as around workbenches, drinks machines, etc, it is advisable to specify additional coats.
The service life of a floor can be considerably extended by good housekeeping practices. Regular cleaning of CK Glaze™ may be carried out using a rotary scrubbing machine with water miscible cleaning agents or by hot water washing at a temperature not exceeding 50°C.
The floor coating shall be CK Glaze®, a two-component polyester-urethane clear gloss. The coating shall be applied in two coats to achieve a total dry film thickness of approximately 60 microns. Prepare and apply strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's written instructions.
It is essential that CK Glaze™ is only applied to resilient hard floors which are sound, clean, dry and free of oil, grease, paint and curing or release agents in order to achieve maximum adhesion between the floor and the substrate. Dust and other debris should then be removed by vacuum brush.
Because CK Glaze™ is a relatively thin coating, any surface irregularities may show through, causing excessive wear on high spots and changing the perceived appearance of the coating. If surface preparation produces an excessively deep profile on the resilient flooring, advice should be sought from CK Floors regarding suitable methods to produce a smooth and level floor.
CK Glaze™ should be removed from the tools and equipment after use using CK Glaze Cleaner. Hardened materials can only be removed mechanically.

CK Glaze™ has a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry store between 5°C and 30°C in the original unopened packs.
Flammable. This material contains isocyanates. CK Glaze™ may be harmful if swallowed or inhaled and may cause skin or eye irritation.
Wear protective (PVC) gloves and eye protection when mixing or using. Epoxy materials are skin sensitising to some people. Ensure there is adequate ventilation during mixing and using.
Further details on each of the products mentioned are available on the product Material Safety Data Sheets. To ensure no harm is caused to persons using CK Glaze™, it is recommended that the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheets are read by all concerned. Contact CK Flooring for copies.
